Severe Weather Possible on Saturday
The Storm Prediction Center is predicting a slight risk of severe weather Saturday and Saturday Night for all of Louisiana.
Storms will likely be in progress along and ahead of a frontal boundary in parts of the Mississippi River Valley as well as eastern Texas on Friday. Daytime heating, causing temperatures to rise into 70s and 80s, will create additional instability. Strong mid to upper-level winds will aid in the development of severe storms including isolated supercell structures.
There will also be a slight to moderate risk for heavy rains and flash flooding on Saturday as rainfall totals between 1.00 and 3.00 inches are expected with isolated areas receiving up to 6.00 inches of rain.
Stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio and/or local media for the latest details on this system.
